NORMA WALK CYCLE TEST #1

Thursday 16 February 2017
Quick test done with an earlier unfinished rig. This won't obviously become Norma's actual walk as it more inspired by runway models but it was good practice as it revealed some flaws (the hand/arm movement isn't technically complete here and the tentacles start to sink in the ground when cycling the animation).

SCENE BREAKDOWN #1

To help us stay organised, I created a little chart we can now both access on here that numbers and breaks down scenes into shots, as well as lists some characteristics particular to each shot to take into account in the future.
The second PDF was mostly a guide for the first one, to help figure out what should be a matte painting and what should be modelled in 3D.

ROBOT DESIGNS

Saturday 4 February 2017
As the robots design had previously been left unresolved, I've created some more variations now that their role and abilities are more defined within the animatic.

At the moment we're trying out this upside-down version since it could actually work better in several scenes. I therefore created those quick mock-ups to get a sense of what they'd look like shaded and textured.

At the same time, looking back at our influences, I feel like the shape could probably get simplified a lot more to read better as manipulative little robots...
