ROBOT DESIGNS

Saturday, 4 February 2017
As the robots design had previously been left unresolved, I've created some more variations now that their role and abilities are more defined within the animatic.

At the moment we're trying out this upside-down version since it could actually work better in several scenes. I therefore created those quick mock-ups to get a sense of what they'd look like shaded and textured.

At the same time, looking back at our influences, I feel like the shape could probably get simplified a lot more to read better as manipulative little robots...

NORMA COLOURS #2

Monday, 19 December 2016
The following charts detail the definitive colour schemes for our two models. As Cat pointed out, earthier greens couldn't necessarily work because, being an alien, Norma needed to feel rather other-wordly. But what we decided in the end is to have two different skin tones: a colder, more artificial green for when she gets glamourized in the lab and a warmer one for the more naive, 'unpolished', pre-rags-to-riches Norma.

In-between conversations with possible vocalists and composers(!), we are pushing Norma's design further in order to finalize it

CHARACTER SKETCHES #10

Tuesday, 8 November 2016
Made these sketches to draw down ideas for Norma Green's dress. I've been looking at costumes from 1950's sci-fi films and television. Also looked into modern catwalk fashion, as there are some very contemporary dress designs. The sketches here are numbered so feedback is very much welcome.

CHARACTER SKETCHES #7

Friday, 21 October 2016
I've made a few thumbnails for a robot mascot that will feature along with Norma Green. I looked at 1950's hair salon equipment and household appliances for influences.

CHARACTER SKETCHES #6

In regards to finding our character, we have settled for face we think could work well and are now in the process of figuring out its corresponding profile and hairstyle

CHARACTER SKETCH #5

Sunday, 16 October 2016
The other day we realised our protagonist's outfit might do with a little bit more sci-fi vibes, so we looked into clothing worn by iconic B movie women, 20s and 50s futuristic fashion and new textures brought by today's fashion.
